DIE PLAAS

Die plaas, wat geleë is agter Jasmyn, is die sustermaatskappy, van Jasmyn en is bekend as Food Fair Pty Ltd, ,en is verantwoordelik vir die voedselverwerking en landbou,  wat Jasmyn voorsien van produkte.

Die plaas het ’n Jersey-kudde wat daagliks duisende liters vars melk produseer en dit word gepasturiseer en gebottel by die melk fabriek –  en  verkoop word by Jasmyn.

Die melkery verwerk ook hulle vars melk in ‘n verskeidenheid van kaase, jogurts, botter en ander suiwelprodukte.  Hier fabriek is ook oop vir skooltoere om die vervaardiging van suiwel te besigtig.

Die plaas produseer vars groente vir Jasmyn, op ‘n rotasie-basis, soos waatlemoene, pampoene, murgpampoentjies, brussel spruite, kool, suikermielies, blaarslaai, groenrissies, kruie, eetbare blomme uie, vye, ens, ens.

Die plaas glo nie aan mors nie. Daar is ‘n konfytfabriek wat alle vrugte en groente, wat in oormaat is, verwerk en botte as konfyte of ingelegde produkte.

As daar vars produkte is wat nie benut kan word nie, word dit dan na die varke gestuur, as kos.  Geen vermorsing  nie.

Die plaas spog ook met sy  eie erdwurmplaas, en hulle eie kompos hoop.  Alle beesmis en erdwurm kompos,  word teruggewerk in die lande waar die groente en vrugte geplant word. Die plaas volg die prosesse van natuur boerdery en is hormoon vry.

THE FARM

The farm, situated behind Jasmyn is known as its sister company, Food Fair Pty Ltd and is responsible for the food processing and agriculture.

The farm has ‘n Jersey herd that producers thousands of litres of fresh milk on a daily basis and it’s bottled and sold at Jasmyn.  The dairy also processes different cheeses, yoghurts, butter and other dairy products, manufactures in a dairy factory premises, which is also available for school tours to view.

The farm also producers’ fresh vegetables for Jasmyn, on a rotation’s basis, such as watermelons, pumpkins, baby marrows, Brussel sprouts, cabbages, sweetcorn, lettuce, green peppers, herbs, eatable flowers onions, figs, etc etc.

Our farm does not believe in wasting.  We have a jam factory that takes all fruit and vegetables that are in excess and they bottled into jams and preserves.  If there are products that cannot be utilized, they then are sent to the pigs.  No wastage.  The farm boasts with it’s own earthworm facilities, and all cow manure and worm castings, are returned to the earth and utilized as fertilizer for the planting of vegetables.  It’s a hormone free farm, farming with only natural methods.

A new part of our food processing plant is the making and baking of our own pastry pies, which are also sold at Jasmyn, of which the cocktail sausage pies and game pies have become quite popular – The best in the Northwest!
